22.) Ignite Speech Competition

“Go Cha! Go Cha! You can do it!” we cheer for our classmate Charella Gonzalez. I feel the nervousness on her but I know that she will do her best on stage and yes she didn’t broke my expectations from her but sadly she didn’t won but our block are proud for her she still number 1 for us, she’s the champion and of course all of the contestants there are already champion.
On this event ignite speech competition, there are so many contestant that is great, that’s why I know it’s hard for the judges to pick who will be the winner for this competition.  I can see the hard work of the contestants, their talents for the speech, their confidents on stage that I want to achieve also. Because I am a person that who’s afraid of many people staring at you and you don’t know what are they thinking about what are they saying to you something like that, I really hate stage fright. Since kinder I don’t want to be in many people, I hate people whenever they are many, I hate walking all by myself in many people and most especially when I’m on stage, that’s why I don’t like joining some contest like this I don’t have the courage to join I don’t have the confidence like these contestants have, that’s why I want to be like them I want to have those ability to talk in front of many people I want to change myself ,for my better also.

I’m happy for the results, they really deserved to win especially for the champion, he’s really good and his block mates are really supporting him from the beginning of his speech to the end of the speech you can really hear and see their screams supporting him.

21.) Speech Choir Competition

"We are TM 151 one and we are amazing" that's what our team leader said on our avp and Yes! we won the "champion" our aim since cheers and chants and I would like to thanks all of the hard works of my block mates all the pain of our knees and numbness of our hands and legs, It’s all worth it!

We practice early on our speech choir so we will not be stress on the next days of our life (hahaha) because also of the many things to do like projects there and test everywhere and our decision was a success!

I thought that we will not win, I thought that we will just get the 1st runner up, because MA’s performance was also good and I thought also we will just get 2nd runner because AC was also good. But those “thoughts” was wrong , those “thoughts” are vanished like magic and becomes the word of “Best”.

I thought these things because on our first word “a man” is not synchronized and also on our last part of our presentation are not synchronized. But I’m happy that we won! I’m happy because its all worth it and I’m happy because it’s all done.

All in all we show that Tourism Management is not just about looks or beauty, we show that Tourism Management can also be like others like powers to be united, to proved that we also have brains, and to proved that Tourism Management can also do it. These things really proved it on our speech choir, we proved that “We are one” and we show our best on stage and as what Bill First said “We stand united; we speak as one team; and we will transform this moment into a catalyst for unity and positive changes”

20.) Public speaking (SoM)

What? Why? How? No!!!! When I heard that I’m one of the 6 representative of the public speaking competition I was like “OMG!” I have felt many emotions mixed emotion that I didn’t felt before. I was happy, nervous, sad and many more. I’m happy because I’m part of the 6 representative and my prof. saw some potential on me and I’m happy with that. Nervous because of course it’s my first time doing this kind of activities in my life as in first time since kinder I never face people nor spoke all by me self in front of people.

While I’m doing my draft speech at our house, I ask myself if I can do this. One time I ask my prof. if it is ok if I’m going to back out because there are so many thoughts that pops in my mind but my professor said that I can to this, that I just need to trust myself, and he saw some potential on me. And of course I accept it, it’s already their I cannot step back or run from this.

It’s time, it’s the time to show what I’ve got, I feel the nervousness in my body, sweaty hands, pounding of my heart and many more thoughts in my mind. I always feel these emotion in every competition or even if just a presentation in class. But I’ve conquer it and It’s a great thing that I’ve become a part of the competition even if I didn’t get in to the finals because there are a lot of great contestants and I’m happy that I saw my strengths and I see my weaknesses in this competition. For the winners especially to my classmates Pamela Gatdula and Jan Michael Mil who went to the finals and for Mil who won the 2nd runner up, I’m proud of them, they really deserved to win.

19.) The Phantom Of The Opera

Wow! That’s the first thing I said when I watched this musical theater (The Phantom of the Opera) on our class EEP. Those angelic and powerful voice, especially the voices of Christine and the Phatom, I really love their voice

In Wikipedia, The Phantom of the Opera (French: Le Fantôme de l'Opéra) is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. It was first published as a serialization in Le Gaulois from September 23, 1909, to January 8, 1910. It was published in volume form in April 1910 by Pierre Lafitte. The novel is partly inspired by historical events at the Paris Opera during the nineteenth century and an apocryphal tale concerning the use of a former ballet pupil's skeleton in Carl Maria von Weber's 1841 production of Der Freischütz. Nowadays, it is overshadowed by the success of its various stage and film adaptations. The most notable of these are the 1925 film depiction featuring Lon Chaney and Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical.

Ramin Karimloo did an amazing job as the Phantom. That isn’t an easy part to portray. That part particularly asks a lot of an actor. Not only does he have to sing, he has to find this very deep emotion to dig into within the whole film. He seems to do both with such ease and beauty. All that they really had to do within that was more of just a physical role. Within this opera you see this wonderful and a truly developed character.

My favorite part musically was when they performed Masquerade. That is one of the amazing musical. They had the full cast in makeup and costumes and masks. “Masquerade paper faces on parade, Masquerade, hide your face so the world will never find you.” You have everyone dancing all around the stairs and in this incredible hall. This is one of the most beautiful scenes in the whole performance without a doubt.

This is a musical theater that I would recommend to anyone. This isn’t just for musical lovers. It is also for people that love different elements in opera as well. The story in this is portrayed beautifully and it is a wonderful production.

18.) Public Speaking High School Competition

Friday morning and we don’t have classes again, we’re going to watch the high school public speaking competition. We are required to watch it because we have also a completion like that (the SoM public speaking completion) so we are aware on what are the things that we should do on the stage and the things that we should do. And the competion begins, I know that the high school students are nervous (we all know that nervousness can’t leave you it always there for you) and I’m happy that the mc’s are comforting the contestants and also for the judges they are just calm and happy because some judges are very strict they just talk what they want to say to the contestant that’s why some contestants are looking for the faces of the judges.

There are ten contestants and when the first contestant get up on stage and when I heard his voice I was like “OMG! His voice is so good” it’s like a mature guy or like your dream guy voice and the judges loves also the voice of the contestant. I love his accent it’s like the way how Harry Style talk. There is also a contestant who forgot the lines of the speech and it happens often. I’m also like that, when we have a memorize speech in our public speaking class I also forgot my lines, I’ve memorized it but when I’m in front I totally forgot some of the lines of my speech (I always experience mental block). There is this one boy whose hands is totally shaking. He was holding his speech while his talking but I was touch on his speech. And this boy won 3rd runner up. And there was this also a very lovely girl she’s pretty and tall but she’s only 15 yrs. old and I was like “oh! Why?” (hahaha) and when she starts her speech everybody and the judges WOW them. The way she speaks, act and move it’s like a professional speaker. And this girl won the 1st place! Her coach and her classmates shout of joy and she cry also of joy and I’m happy for her also, she really deserves it.

Going and watching some of this activity makes me want to join and do more better. I want to experience that kind of things but sadly I have this kind of attitude of being a shy person. But maybe, we don’t know.

17.) Plagiarism

Copy here Copy there Copy everywhere. These are the things that most lazy people do when they’re making some thesis, projects or assignments. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary “plagiarize” means: to use the words or ideas of another person as if they were your own or ideas, to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one’s own or use another’s production without crediting the source, and to commit literary theft. So here I will talk about why do people plagiarize, why some people loves to copy others work. The three common things why they plagiarize: Laziness, they have no time and the writing issue.

All of us “I guess” are lazy sometimes but the work that we are always being lazy at is when we’re doing our projects. Some students have projects that they don’t know and sometimes they just want to finish it immediately so the result is that students are just copying others work and I know that some students don’t know that copying (or what we called plagiarism) is bad and they can be jailed. According to Department of Justice, plagiarism itself is not a crime but that plagiarism that also amounts to copyright infringement is. Such plagiarism now carries a penalty of 3-6 years imprisonment and a fine of P50, 000 - P150, 000 ($1,200 - $3,600), if prosecuted under the law.

Sometimes people plagiarize because they have no time. I admit that sometimes I do this especially when the submission deadline is tomorrow, like I’m doing it in a rush hour (sometimes I’m not going to sleep just to finish the paper works). Also for “lazy people” like what I’ve said a while ago they just want to finish it immediately and they just want to have fun (going to a party rather than doing the assignments). I guess that to these people my advice is that time management only (I’m like advising myself also hahaha).

The writing issue, this is one of my problem also, so sometimes I copy others work on the internet. Because my grammar, lack of words and lack of imagination (like my brain is at the range of 75/100) it needs more enhancement. Most students are like this, so sometimes they are lazy they have no trust and confidence on themselves that’s why sometimes they have no choice to plagiarize.

Overall why just these three common things make them as a challenges to our lives and make them as an obstacle so at end, the result maybe you don’t know your works are the one who people plagiarize.

16.) Media Literacy ( Seminar)

It was Wednesday morning and I thought our prof will going to teach us a new lesson but when she entered the room she didn’t bring anything and when she said that we are going on a seminar I was like “OMG! We’re not going to do anything”. The seminar is all about “Media Literacy: Mobilizing the Millennials as Socially Responsible Prosumers

The three guest speakers are Ms. Edmallyne Remillano (Head writer, State of the Nation with Jessica Soho and Secretary, Talents Association of GMA Network), Jan Meynard Nualla (Program Producer, Global Conservations on CNN Philippines, Talents Association of GMA Network (TAG), Society of Asian Journalists (SAJ) ), and Lian Nami Buan ( Assiciate Producer for Segments, State of the Nation with Jessica Soho, Associate Editor, SubSelfie.com and Talents Association of GMA).

The first speaker discuss on How to (effectively) write storythe first thing she said is that “Journalism is about making the important interesting and the interesting relevant” their will be an impact to the people and the social media will have a purpose. The most important question that Ms. Remillano discuss are What is the story about, really? (What is the content about?) What are the value added information, insight? (Like what is new, information that can use of people) So what? (Why should people care?) And then? (What do people want to see next or what will going to happen?)

In writing an effective story we should put the important issues that people will give importance. But before we can achieve this thing we should first know the art of interview first is embrace the silence, second is Do not be afraid to playdumb, third is Take notes for more questions, fourth is Research is a process of gathering data, not the result, and lastly Start stong. End stronger ( to create impact) and in wrintng the story first things first, finding of your fieldwork, decide which facts and details go together, what’s the point? ,the context first. And Ms. Remillano also share some tips, Be critical when asking questions, Red tape blues: Be persistent and patient, make sure grammar and composition is correct, take time to distress and you will be busy as hell. Brace yourself.

The second speaker discuss is all about reality. “Blaming social media, calling it a lie, further shows your lack of attempt to understand yourself” this is what Ms. Nualla said. Sometimes journalist, itself feels like a fight to get people to care. Most people like entertainment shows than important news that’s why some people don’t know what are the bad things happening in the world. Ms. Nualla said that “It’s not internet fault, it’s our fault”.

The last speaker discuss about The role of the media and advocacy journalism. To inform, To educate and To entertain these three are the role of media. Advocacy journalism, lies in the process, corroboration, two-source rule, all sides of issue and fairness. Ms. Buan also discuss how they present the news. Increase awareness on certain issues, raise awareness, spark public discourse, and still practice objectivity and fairness and choice of what to report. Proactive consumers of the media demand transparency, social relevance demand discussion on pertinent issues that affect society and individual issues. Be discerning of the reports that are presented to us and how we consume them.

Creating a good story means finding and verifying important or interesting information. And what I’ve learned in the seminar is that be curious in the world, don’t just watch or search about entertainment be curious also about what are the things that we can also help to the world.

15.) Edith Tiempo

Edith L. Tiempo, poet, fictionist, teacher and literary critic is one of the finest Filipino writers in English whose works are characterized by a remarkable fusion of style and substance, of craftsmanship and insight. She was born on 22 April 1919 in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. Her poems are intricate verbal transfigurations of significant experiences as revealed, in two of her much anthologized pieces, "The Little Marmoset" and "Bonsai". As fictionist, Tiempo is as morally profound. Her language has been marked as "descriptive but unburdened by scrupulous detailing." She is an influential tradition in Philippine literature in English. Together with her late husband, Edilberto K. Tiempo, she founded and directed the Silliman National Writers Workshop in Dumaguete City, which has produced some of the country's best writers.

Tiempo's published works include the novel A Blade of Fern (1978), His Native Coast (1979), The Alien Corn (1992), One, Tilting Leaves (1995) and The Builder (2003); the poetry collections, The Tracks of Babylon and Other Poems (1966), and The Charmer's Box and Other Poems (1993); and the short story collection Abide, Joshua, and Other Stories(1964). (Adapted from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts website)

All that I love were with me tonight. Well, maybe not all, because that would mean the world. But it was enough. And it was a moment I can relive for always. Do you know the feeling of being swept away? Of just losing yourself completely, just for a moment, or for all time, or both? That’s how it was. And it was the perfect way to end my birthday month, and it was just fitting, to be standing in that room, filled with strangers and friends, of people I’ll never see again and music that will be with me forever.
So, here, a poem for celebrating:

Bonsai
Edith Tiempo

All that I love
I fold over once
And once again
And keep in a box
Or a slit in a hollow post
Or in my shoe.

All that I love?
Why, yes, but for the moment-
And for all time, both.
Something that folds and keeps easy,
Son’s note or Dad’s one gaudy tie,
A roto picture of a queen,
A blue Indian shawl, even
A money bill.

It’s utter sublimation,
A feat, this heart’s control
Moment to moment
To scale all love down
To a cupped hand’s size

Till seashells are broken pieces
From God’s own bright teeth,
And life and love are real
Things you can run and
Breathless hand over
To the merest child.

14.) Having A Slim Body (Tips)

Chubby, fat, pig, big and many more insulting words that you can hear when you're a fat person. Having a big body can really make you less shine to the world especially when you are not fixing yourself. So here, I will share to you some simple tips on how to maintain a slim body.

Don’t eat too much!

Of course eating lots of food can really make you fat faster. You should organize your food list, on what will you eat on breakfast, lunch and dinner. Eat five times a day, starting with breakfast. Many people skip breakfast, thinking they're saving themselves some calories. This rarely works, you end up overeating at other times of the day when you become too hungry.

Your body has gone without food for several hours while you were sleeping. It needs that energy to get started. By eating five small meals each day, starting with breakfast, you’ll stoke the fires of your metabolism, making it easier to lose weight.

                                               Drink more water

Surprisingly, many people reach for food when their body is actually thirsty. Water also helps your body to flush out toxins and helps keep you hydrated, which helps keep you energized. When you're tired, you won't be as active.

According to my research The Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommends 3.7 liters (15 cups) of water per day for men; 2.7 liters (11 cups) per day for women. This doesn't mean you should be drinking that much water.  You get water from the foods you eat (fruits, vegetables) and other liquids you drink (milk or juice, for example). About 19% of your water intake comes from foods you eat.

       Don’t drink your calories.

Energy drinks, lattes, sugary sodas, or even juice, beverages can contain a lot of calories and they don’t make you full. Swap these out for low- or no-calorie beverages to help you lose weight naturally.
     Exercise!

Exercise helps to burn the excess calories from the body. It not only improves the physique but also enhances grace, balance and posture. It improves digestion by aiding the natural peristaltic process.

And there you go! Follow these healthy-eating guidelines and you’ll be amazed how quickly you look and feel wonderful, as that stubborn stomach fat falls away.

13.) K-Music

Music, people need music for comfort, for relaxation and when we feel bored we always go to the bed or to the window and listen to our favorite music.
I have many favorite songs especially on Korean songs. There are many good songs in Korea like ballad, hip-hop, rap, rock, and many more.

When I’m listening to these kind of music I always fall asleep. I don’t know why, and sometimes when I’m reviewing I really need to listen to k-pop music, like while reviewing my ears need to hear k-pop songs and also when I’m memorizing, I can memorize fast when I’m listening to music, sometimes I cannot focus on what I’m reviewing when I’m not listening to k-pop.
There so many favorite songs that I like, but I will recommend to you guys to listen to these songs, it’s 100% good songs: Viva Primavera by: Dick Punks, All AKMU songs, All Day6 songs, Bad by: Infinite, One Day: BTS, Hello: Boys Republic, G.R.8.U by: VIXX, Where are you, What are you doing by: B.A.P, Mad: Got7, Solo Day by: B1A4. Actually there are so many good songs but here are the most and my favorite songs and I always listen when I am alone. Here are some of the music videos.
2nd Confession by: BTOB

Dope by: BTS

Bad by: Infinite

  Viva Primavera by:  Dick Punks

100% by: AKMU

Congratulations by: Day6

Where are you, What are you doing by: B.A.P

G.R.8.U by: VIXX

Solo Day by: B1A4

Why did I say all AKMU and Day6 songs? It is because their songs are really great especially AKMU is in "YG entertainment" and DAY6 is in "JYP entertainment". When the first time I heard the track list of AKMU and Day6 I have this feelings that I’m like going in a flash back, the songs makes me want to fly, makes me want to just listen all day long and makes me want just seat and relax. I swear when you listen to their songs especially to AKMU songs you will also say “ I like their voice, the harmony is great, it makes me comfortable”.

Until I become old, I will still listen to kpop songs. I will share these to my future daughter or son and to my future grandchild.

12.) Multi Fandom (multiifnt)

When kpop fans hear and saw Girls Generation, Big Bang, Super Junior, CNBLUE, Got7, EXO and many more kpop groups their always going crazy, they are like those people in mental hospital. They are crying, screaming, waving their hands and taking pictures to their idols. And I, I’m also like that. Being a multi fandom is really hard you know, you will not understand this if you don’t like bands or groups. It’s like a delicious food, many yummy foods around you and you need to pick one to five foods only. You need a really deep concentration on peeking on who will you going to support. Some fans make some ranking list on who is the first idol they really want to support and until to the last they want to support so they not be confuse. But of course before I or we become a multi fandom there is always the first group that we’ve become more addicted. And for me It’s Infinite that’s why the title “Multi Fandom (multiifnit)".

I’ve become an inspirit (infinite fandom name) when I was in 1st year high school because of my classmate name Lei, she’s a kpoper and she really loves Girls Generation, she’s a loyal fan and until now she’s still supporting Girls Generation. And also until now, I still support Infinite. Actually they have a 2ND world tour and they are going to visit Manila on November 7, 2015 at SM Mall of Asia Arena, they will have a concert here “INFINITE EFFECT”. And I hope that I can go to the concert.

There are also some groups I like, that’s why I’m a multi fandom. BTS, VIXX, BTOB, Boys Republic, and for the girl group Lovelyz. These five are my most favorite kpop group that I always support when there is a contest like MAMA Award.

11.) Street Walks

Seoul is one of my favorite country when it comes to fashion. The way they use the dress and how they style it, it makes me WOW! Actually I bought some k-fashion style dress, so every time I go to k-pop fest I’m always ready. So now I will share some of my most favorite k-fashion styles that you can also use for some events or occasions.

cr. JOAMOM

The reason why I like this style is because first of all I love color blue, whenever I see blue it makes me feel happy without any reason, I feel comfortable and I feel free whenever I see blue, I really like any kinds of blue: dark or light.

And also this Stitch-Detail Denim Shirt, I can wear this in any occasion like birthday parties, hanging out with friends, going out with family and when I’m going to travel.

cr. NIPONJJUYA

Dip-Back Cable-Knit Sweater, this is the best fashion dress when it is cold. It’s simple but elegant to look at, when I’m looking at it I feel comfortable. You can style it with the round hat and it is also good with beanies if you like.

cr. Bongjashop

Sleeveless Wool-Blend Knit Top, I like this kind of style, it’s like boyish style for me. You can also use this when going to school if you don’t have school uniforms. Like for Friday and Saturday attire.

cr. Mixxmix

Denim Dress Jumper, It has a square neckline, thick shoulder straps, a loose fit bodice, patch pockets at the front and a mid-thigh level hemline. Pair it up with white shirt and black self-tie sneakers. I also love this kind of fashion because it has this kind of cute style taste

I also love the styles of K-pop idols, I love the way they dress when they are on stage and their airport fashion.

10.) K-Drama

One of my most favorite hobby is watching Korean drama. We know that k-drama can really make teenagers, adult and also old people pumped there heart really fast because of the dramatic and emotional scenes. I also love watching k-drama, actually I’ve watched many kinds of k-drama so I want to share some of my favorite k-drama that can make your heart and mind go crazy.

Who are you: school 2015

This is my most favorite k-drama I’ve watched in my life. The story is really interesting from the start of the episode to the last episode, it can make your heart cry. I will give some details about this darama, this story is all about the lives of identical girls with very similar names, one who disappears without a trace and one who loses her memory, collide in unexpected ways. Lee Eun Bi grows up in an orphanage and deals with the relentless bullying from a group of girls at her school. Go Eun Byul attends Segang High School, a top-notch school in Gangnam, but disappears without a trace during a school field trip. As Eun Bi tries to escape from her miserable life and ends up in the hospital with no memories of her past, Eun Byul’s mother thinks Eun Bi is her lost daughter and takes her back to live her life as Eun Byul. As Eun Bi tries to recover her lost memories, can she discover what happened to the real Eun Byul and why she looks so much like the missing girl?

High School - Love On

This is all about Lee Seul Bi is an angel who accidentally becomes human after she saves Shin Woo Hyun from a premature death. Despite his cold demeanor, Woo Hyun is popular in school because of his good looks and singing ability. When his best friend, Hwang Sung Yeol , finds out a secret that ties them together and also develops feelings for Seul Bi, who is posing as a fellow student at their school, the best friends turn into rivals.

This drama makes my heart flutter, you can really feel the romantic excitement on every scenes and the reason also why I loved this so much is because my favorite idols are here.
Blood

This is all about a vampire works as a doctor. A battle between good and evil as well as immortal love takes place. One reason that makes me love this drama is that it is a fantasy style with action scenes and I really like that kind of style.

    She Was Pretty

Ji Sung Joon was a shy, porky kid who was constantly teased by the other kids for his rotund shape. When he transfers to a new school in fifth grade and meets Kim Hye Jin, the prettiest, most popular girl in school, his life turns around. The kind-hearted Hye Jin becomes his only friend and protector, and they become each other’s first love. But then everything changes when Sung Joon’s family immigrates to the United States and then Hye Jin’s father’s business goes downhill, plunging her family from their previous wealthy lifestyle. But that’s not all! Hye Jin’s beautiful looks initially took after her mother. But as soon as Hye Jin hits puberty, her father’s genetic skin condition takes hold and leaves her with reddish facial scars that makes her resemble a raccoon. Fifteen years later, Sung Joon is a whole new person, dashing and handsome and a successful art director, who is transferred from New York to the Seoul office of “The Most” fashion magazine to work as the deputy chief editor. He tries to find his childhood friend, Hye Jin, again. But embarrassed by her current unglamorous appearance, Hye Jin passes off her best friend, the stunning Min Ha Ri, as herself. But when Hye Jin is suddenly transferred to the magazine department at her new job to work as in intern under Sung Joon, how much longer can she keep her true identity a secret?

This drama makes my heart go grazy, when I saw the trailer of this drama, my heart pumped faster, I can feel the emotions in the scenes and I can feel that I can also relate on the things I saw even if I’ve didn’t  encounter it.

There are also good k-drama’s I didn’t write here like Flower Boy Next Door, Shut Up Flower Boy Band, My Lovely Girl, Heirs, Dream High, To The Beautiful You, My Love From The Star, Emergency Couple and many more.
